For the book, M. Kraus talked to Jackie (Lee Ralya) and Theresa (Trueman-Madriaga) of Kaulunani. We have to put it together and figure out how much we need. He is working with J. Anderson on the photography and gps. The photography and rough layout would be free. He has a basic format of two photos and then a page of the basic information on the tree species and history of its exceptional status. It should commercially be able to pay for itself as a coffee table type of book. 3.Exceptional Tree Assessment Protocol. J. Anderson and M. Kraus will work on a fill in the blank form to periodically record the status of the tree as it matures. The original application would be used as a baseline. 4.Follow-up on the County Department of Public Works trimming the roots of a monkeypod tree (Grove on Kamehameha Avenue and Pauahi Street) Chair Bisel. M. Kraus mentioned that he met with them. They just wanted some direction on how to take care of the tree properly. Chair Bisel stated that we wanted a record as a matter of protocol so that the County realizes that even though it is a health and safety issue, they can deal with the problem immediately, but as a courtesy we would like them to provide us with some sort of account of what happened. So some form that they would fill out and submit for our files.
