B. Health <br />1. Women’s Health Month <br />E. Cabatu will chair a Health Fair at the Hilo Medical Center in association with <br />the American Cancer Society, Heart Association, and YMCA. C. Kaipo and <br />A. Mejia volunteered to assist. Discussion on possible places for the fair—Prince <br />Kuhio or Hilo Shopping Center, and funding for advertising. <br />K. Peters and K. Nova plan to put on a depression screening in October 2008. <br />E. Cabatu recommended that they contact Emily Mendes Bryant at Kona <br />Hospital since she puts on community events and might wish to partner with the <br />committee. <br />C. Liaison <br />1. HSCSW <br />E. Cabatu reported that she was confirmed in September, attended her first <br />Commission meeting, and attended the Governor’s Conference in September. <br />2. Community Reports <br />None. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Teen Dating Violence Prevention Peer Education Conference <br />N. Kelly reported that Dr. J. Murray’s presentations were well attended. <br /> Kona – 32 people day/22 people evening <br /> Hilo - 65 people day/62 people evening <br /> Kealakehe School did a half hour interview on a school broadcast. <br /> Konawaena Middle School featured heron closed circuit TV. <br /> Konawaena High School in the Gym <br /> Pahoa High School in Gym <br /> Hilo Domestic Violence vigil and walk <br />N. Kelly reported that Dr. J. Murray received 900+ e-mails with questions from <br />students. N. Kelly recommended that CSW bring J.
