Viernes reported that the directory went out to bid and the bid was <br />awarded to Hawaii Printing Corporation. The directory will be printed in <br />salmon color and it will be available sometime in August. <br />K. Peters asked E. Takazawa if she was able to make contact with <br />Keevan Tomof Alliance Direct. E. Takazawa said she called him, left a <br />message, and received a phone call the following day from another <br />person who wasnt K. Tom. Apparently, K. Tom changedhis phone <br />number. <br />2. First Female Booklet <br />Tabled. <br />3.EssayContest <br />C. Kitaoka reported that the permission letter was mailed to the three <br />complex area superintendents. The initial packet to the schools will be <br />mailed during the week of August 7, 2006. The essay competition will <br />commence on September 1, 2006 and will end on December 15, 2006. <br />The judging period is from January 2-19, 2007. The luncheon awards <br />ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at the Hapuna Beach <br />PrinceHotel. <br />SinceadditionalfundinghasbeenreceivedfromCouncilmemberV.Isbell <br />for the essay contest, the awards for the savings bonds have been <br />increasedto$200forfirstplace,$150forsecondplace,and$100forthird <br />place. The teacher of first place students will receive a $100 gift certificate <br />andtheteacherofsecondandthirdplacestudentswillreceiveothergifts. <br />The lunch menu may consist of pasta salad or oriental chicken salad; <br />three different kinds of pizza or chicken katsu, rice, and vegetables; vanilla <br />ice cream, and fruit punch. The cost is $25 per person not including tax <br />and tip. Additional costs may incur if other items are added on to the <br />menu. <br />2 <br /> <br />
