Education <br />1. Urgent Services Directory <br />E. Takazawa reported that approximately 9,616 directories were distributed. <br />2. First Female Booklet <br />Tabled. <br />3. Essay Contest <br />J. Balberde-Kamalii reported that the essay contest luncheon awards ceremony <br />will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2006 at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel. She <br />will start soliciting for donations in January. <br />4. Mentoring <br />No report. <br />5. Hawaii County Womens Hall of Fame <br />CSW discussed whether to change the date of the event. K. Peters reported that <br />her concern is starting a precedent. There is so much preplanning involved with <br />the menu, selection process, etc. CSW needs to decide if the event will be held <br />in Waikoloa and offer transportation to the honorees. <br />C. Ka-ipo suggested having the event in Waikoloa, but moving the time to lunch <br />insteadofdinner.However,CSWneedstocheckiftheHele-Onbuswillbe <br />available. <br />D. Pung asked CSW to decide whether to change the date, time, and provide <br />transportation.K.Petersmovedtokeepthedatethesamebasedonlogisticsof <br />the event being one week before. J. Balberde-Kamalii seconded the motion. <br />D.NodaofferedtocheckontheavailabilityoftheHele-Onbuswhichwill <br />determine the time of the event. J. Balberde-Kamalii felt that its a logistical issue <br />andsuggestedmovingtheeventtoHiloorhavingarepresentativeofthe <br />honoree attend the event in Waikoloa on their behalf. C. Ka-ipo suggested that <br />CSWprovideamementotothehonorees.E.Takazawapreferstheideaofa <br />glass vase with a koa base and commemoration of the honoree. D.
