M. Lake reported that she was unable to attend the HSCSW meeting since it was <br />scheduled for today. <br />2. Legislative Update <br />D. Pung shared a report from the Hawaii Womens Coalition meeting that she <br />attended on June 9, 2004 on Oahu. <br />D. Marketing <br />1. Newsletter <br />M. Lake circulated a draft of the newsletter for review. She asked C. Kitaoka to <br />submit a bio for the newsletter. D. Pung will submit her article again since <br />M. Lake was unable to retrieve the article. Articles are due by Tuesday, June 22. <br />E. Community Reports <br />A report from L. Guluzzy and P. Newland was submitted to CSW members. <br />P. Newland mentioned that she attendeda Smart Growth Planning Sessions in <br />Puna. She also serves on the Mainstreet Board for Pahoa which is currently <br />working on the skateboard park. She attended the DVIAT public awareness <br />committee meeting. <br />E. Takazawa reported that she has been continuing to work on the development <br />issues in the rural South Hilo district. She is also a member of a committee called <br />Kalanianaole School which is a school that almost has an F report card. The <br />committees focus is to get more parents involved, find out how teachers could invite <br />parents into their classroom, and make it more parent friendly. <br />D. Pung reported that six members from the Zonta Club will be attending a Zonta <br />InternationalConventioninNewYork.Thisconventionisheldeveryotheryearat <br />different sites. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Resignations and appointments <br />M. Lake announced her resignation effective June 30, 2004 due to personal <br />reasons. Therefore, the nominating committee needs to submit a slate for vice <br />chair. The nominating committee consists of J. Balberde-Kamalii, L. Guluzzy, and <br />P. Newland. <br />B. Nominating Committee <br />The nominating committee will meet and present a slate for vice chair at the next <br />meeting. <br />NEWBUSINESS <br />A.
