E. NACW Convention 2004
P. Newland reported that the convention registration is not yet available on their
website. She was impressed that the NACW website included the HSCSW website
link. She wondered if CSW could become a commission instead of a committee.
L. Guluzzy pointed out that every state has their own structure and it depends on the
way its written in the statutes. CSW could possibly work on revising the statute if
necessary.
P. Newland moved to table this discussion until next month when more information
is available. L. Guluzzy seconded the motion. The motion was passed.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
A. Guluzzy will be unable to attend the June meeting and Womens Health Month
subcommittee meeting since she will be off island from June 10-21, 2004.
Therefore, she recommended that D. Pung attend the Hawaii Womens Coalition
meeting as her replacement on June 9. D. Pung agreed to attend.
C. Other
L. Guluzzy mentioned that West Hawaii Today will employ her as a freelance writer
effective June 1. She will be writing a seniors page.
