D. Marketing <br />1. Newsletter <br />S. Shirachi Gonsalves reported that a first draft have been written. She <br />will be substituting an article on the front page honoring Patsy Mink. She <br />asked that new members listed in the newsletter to submit their own <br />photos since she did not like the quality of the pictures submitted. Any <br />incoming articles will be published in the winter edition. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Resignations and appointments <br />M. Andrews announced her resignation after today's meeting due t <br />reasons. She offered to finish the Urgent Services Directory for this year. <br />P. Newland moved to accept M. Andrews' resignation with regret. S. Shirachi <br />Gonsalves seconded the motion. The motion was passed. <br />B. Nominating Committee <br />S. Tanaka presented the following slate of officers: <br />Chair Î M. Lake <br />Vice-Chair Î S. Tanaka <br />Secretary Î S. Shirachi Gonsalves <br />Treasurer Î B. Iramina <br />S. Tanaka moved to accept the slate of officers for fiscal year <br />S. Shirachi Gonsalves seconded the motion. The motion was passe <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />A. New Committees <br />C. Hara reported that M. Lake should work on setting up new comm <br />the Urgent Services Directory and the legislative committee. <br />B. Sponsorships and Co-Sponsorships <br />C. Hara explained the policy for the co-sponsorship form. The proposal must <br />be in writing, detailed, and CSW must approve and accept the form. If there <br />is any deviation from the original proposal, then the proposal needs to be <br />reapproved by CSW or the committee has the authority to withdraw the <br />sponsorship of any project. <br />C. Guest Speakers <br />C. Hara reported that S. Shirachi Gonsalves has requested to invite Senator <br />Lorraine Inouye to do a follow up on long-term care insurance. <br />S. Shirachi Gonsalves suggested that C. Hara send a thank you letter to <br />Dr. Alton Okinaka. <br />5 <br /> <br />
