I agree the wording is a little bit <br />ambiguous. <br />MS. NICHOLSON: <br /> Soit’s all about permits or product approvals? <br />MS. POMEROY: <br /> Yeah, product approvals might involve a permit because if you’re for <br />example processing something in a clean room or certified kitchen then you would need to get a <br />certain kind of permit. The second suggestion, Research and Development: Create economic development <br />incubation for edible and non-edible small agriculture entrepreneurial business to increase <br />efficiency and revenue for the County of Hawai‘i. Can you address how having this incubation <br />would increase efficiency and revenue for the County of Hawai‘i. <br />MS. POMEROY: <br />I believe it’sreferring to having more agriculture business in this county. <br />By having more agricultural business you could increase revenue for the county. That’s my <br />take on it. <br />MS. NICHOLSON: <br /> Sorry to put you on the spot for something you didn’t respond to. <br />MS. POMEROY: <br />Nothat’s okay I was part of putting this together and I just want to speak <br />for the commission and not from my own opinions. <br />MS. NICHOLSON: <br /> Because our charge is really to look at efficiency and revenue generation <br />as well as cost savings so we’re trying to help you put your suggestions forward so if we have <br />something real clear and cogent from you than we can put it forward or suggest it for our report. <br />Ifthere’s a way to phrase this that’s clear to the reader, since I didn’t really understand this <br />when I read it, clear to our report audience which is the county council and administration that <br />would be good. <br />MS. POMEROY: <br /> Do I need to revise it right now? <br />MS. NICHOLSON: <br /> You don’t have to revise it right now but if there is a particular <br />suggestion you want to make, if you find that there is a clearer way to express it you could put it <br />forward to us and then we could discuss it and decide whether we want to include it in our <br />report or not. <br />MS. POMEROY: <br />Okay. <br />MS. NICHOLSON: <br /> Because that’s what we’re trying to do. We’re really trying to help you <br />be more efficient and generate more revenue for the County of Hawai‘i. <br />MS. POMEROY: <br /> When is the deadline if we decide to revise something? <br />MS. NICHOLSON: <br />The sooner the better because we’re working on our draft report right <br />now and we need to have our draft report done in about a month and a half.
