Cushnie, Commissioner <br />present: Wayne T. Joseph, Commissioner <br />Myles Y. Miyasato, Commissioner <br />Melvin K. Sakaguchi, Commissioner <br />Barbara R. Stremski, Commissioner <br />Others present: Katherine A. Garson, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br />Mary Crosson, Secretary <br />Mayor Harry Kim <br />Michael J. Udovic, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br />Deanna Sako, Controller, Finance Department <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />Ms. Cushnie called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. <br />2. INTRODUCTION OF COMMISSIONERS <br />Ms. Garson suggested the commissioners introduce themselves, since this is the second <br />item on the agenda. <br />Ms. Cushnie said she is a retired teacher and still works for the University here. She <br />mentioned she read the binder provided to the Commission members and felt it offered excellent <br />suggestions. <br />Mr. Joseph said he is a teacher at Waiakea High School and is involved in cross - country <br />and other sports and running activities. He is also currently a member of the County's Board of <br />Ethics. <br />Ms. Stremski said she is now retired, but her last job was as an insurance clerk for the <br />Hilo Medical Center, and she was also involved years ago in union activities. She is now taking <br />it easy at home and enjoying her husband's company. <br />Mr. Sakaguchi said he is a retired university administrator. He is also currently working <br />as an unpaid consultant to a Vietnamese university. <br />
