NEW BUSINESS <br />nd <br />A.Karen W. Î will be resigning as of September 2 - will be moving to <br />Honolulu and hopes to continue volunteering on domestic violence issues. The <br />commissioners wish to thank her for her time and energy. <br />Lincoln A. Î those who submit an application to be on the commission should <br />speak to their county council representatives and have their representatives put a <br />good word to the Mayor for them. Patti B. Î to forward applications to those who <br />have expressed a desire to be on the commission. <br />Lee L. will inquire if there are any FVACÓs on the other islands. He is aware of <br />one on Maui. The commission may want to partner with them on legislative <br />items and projects. <br />D.Karen W. Community that Care forum gives community leaders an over <br />view of how a community can benefit from participating in prevention planning <br />and implementation of effort. In the future, we may want to invite a <br />representative as a guest and put this on as an agenda item. <br />E.Patti B. Î FVAC projects for 2003-2004. Continue with our current <br />projects - poster contest; DV-101 fine tuning and present training to the Mayor for <br />other agency to possibly attend; public awareness and education by way of radio, <br />magazine articles, articles in the newspaper, involve the faith community, County <br />Newsletter, DV web page, County pay stubs, ads in the theaters, on going input <br />on the gaps, concerns, and possible solutions to domestic and fa <br />issues to be reported to the Mayor. Possible project ideas should be brought to <br />th <br />the next August 29 meeting. Lee Lord to facilitate a safety and technology <br />training. Patti B. to e-mail a list to the commissioners for their input. Projects <br />will be prioritized at the next meeting. <br />Lincoln A. to find out how many voting and honorary members the FVAC can <br />have. <br />G.Emily N. Î CSAP program, which focuses mainly on women, -funding will <br />be over on September 31, 2003. The state funded ADAD program for rehab will <br />still be in existence so there will only be half a program. <br />H.Patti B. FVAC meeting attendance. We need to make a better effort in <br />attending the FVAC meetings. If anyone feels they are spread out too thin, you <br />may want to stand down and let someone who has more time to give to this <br />commission come on board. Patti B. will be calling the commissi <br />individually. A new calendar, for the 2003-2004 will be distribu <br />commissioners at the next meeting. Lincoln A. has stated that because this is an <br />advisory committee many items do not have to be voted on by the committee. It <br />5 <br /> <br />
