Minutes for Wednesday, September 5, 2001Page 5 of 5 <br />DISCUSSION RELATING TO PROPOSED WASTEWATER RATE INCREASE <br />Peter Boucher hasn’t had the opportunity to go any further on this topic. It is part of the budget process. <br />Deferred to the next meeting. <br />DISCUSSION ON PUBLIC HEARING PROCESS <br /> <br />Riley Smith stated that our next meeting on September 26, 2001 at the State Office Building is going to be a <br />public hearing on our rules between 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. When that meeting is completed, we will have <br />our follow-up Environmental Management Commission meeting. Our goal is to have a public hearing on <br />our rules, formally adopt the rules and then have official meetings and we will know what procedures we <br />need to follow. <br />Hugh Ono questions what happens at public hearing. <br />Gerald Takase stated that you are inviting the public to come in and comment on the rules, whether they <br />think anything should be changed or if they see any problems with it.
