June 14, 2011
I saw in WHT a few days ago about the question of including the military in redistricting. First of
all, I am very grateful to the military for the job they are doing in keeping our country safe and
free. My dad was in the 442nd during WWII. But my opinion regarding the redistricting is that I
don't feel they should be counted. They are a transient population, they don't vote (although I do
concede that they pay taxes) and there are no guarantees that the military population will remain
at any certain level for a given amount of time. I think it skews the boundaries in a negative
manner as far as representation is concerned. Just my humble opinion.
Thank you.
Gordon Harai
Adsgdbg`mfdxntv`mssnrddhmsgdvnqkc-
COMM. 18.1
