Ms. Harden would like to see this parcel <br />preserved and further damage by the military stopped. <br />Commissioner Paul Campbell thanked Ms. Harden for coming and for her <br />in depth report on the Army's plan on the Stryker Brigade. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />The minutes for the February 21, 2006, meeting was not circulated, and <br />therefore, not approved by the commission. <br />DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE REPORT <br />None <br />CHAIRPERSON'S REPORT <br />Vice Chairperson distributed a letter received by e -mail to Cathy Minor from Irma <br />Sumera from the Department of Finance regarding the 2006 State Legislature <br />hiring of Jon Okudara as the lobbyist /bill tracker for the County of Hawaii. <br />ASSESSMENT CRITERIA COMMITTEE REPORT <br />Commissioner Kenneth Kaneshiro distributed his report regarding the intake <br />survey forms received. (see attached list) Commissioner Paul Campbell <br />inadvertently forgot to provide Commissioner Kaneshiro with his intake survey <br />forms received at the Keaau and Pahoa Community meetings (total of 4 surveys <br />received). <br />Recess taken at 10.30 a.m. <br />Reconvened at 10.35 a.m. <br />Commissioner Paul Campbell turned over the four intake survey forms received <br />at the Keaau and Pahoa Community meetings and gave them to Cathy Minor. <br />Cathy Minor made copies of the completed intake forms and gave them to <br />Commissioner Kenneth Kaneshiro. <br />Commissioner Kalani Flores distributed a "DRAFT" of the 2006 Assessment <br />Criteria Form. Commissioner Flores along with Commissioners Springer and <br />Garovoy met on February 23, 2006, to complete this draft form. Commissioner <br />Flores explained the form and commissioners present were able to provide input <br />and gave their comments and changes were made. One of the areas where <br />much of the discussion took place was on the issue of funding. Amy Self <br />informed the Commissioners that their focus should be on prioritizing the list first <br />then work on the funding because there is no deadline for funding per the <br />Ordinance. <br />2 <br />
