Kalani Flores (left at 1:20 p.m.) <br />Absent: Benedict Yung <br />Ruth Walker <br />Others Present: <br />Bobby -Jean Leithead -Todd, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br />Cathy Minor, Secretary <br />Stacie Waltjen, Secretary <br />Stanley Iwamoto, Department of Finance <br />Alice Kawaha, Planning <br />Esther Imamura, Planning <br />Patricia Engelhard, Parks and Recreation (arrived at 10:45 a.m. left at <br />11:30 p.m.) <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order by Vice Chair Hannah Springer at 10:04 a.m. <br />All present Commissioners introduced themselves as well as the secretaries to <br />members of public. <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Deborah L. Chang <br />Ms. Chang was born in North Kohala and raised mainly in Waimea. She <br />grew up in a family that relied on traditional accesses for fishing and <br />hunting. She represented herself and not as a County employee or the <br />Na Ala Hele Advisory Council where she currently serves. She spoke in <br />support of communication 06 -091 (Roads in Limbo.) Ms. Chang sent a <br />letter dated April 19, 2006, to the Department of Public Works with a copy <br />sent to this Commission because she wanted to make sure that this <br />
