CSW would like to send D. Downs and K. Schneider to the conference. The <br />committee will cover airfare, registration fee, taxi/rental car, and airport parking. <br />The HSCSW may be able to pay for the registration fee. The conference will be <br />added on to the July agenda and CSW will discuss and vote on it. <br /> <br />E. Cabatu mentioned that the HSCSW is asking if the committee would like to <br />share the teen dating violence ads because the commission thought it was <br />outstanding. The ads would be shared with the other county committees if they <br />wanted to run it on their radio stations in their county. The commission would <br />also like to play it on the UH radio. CSW thought it was a wonderful idea. <br /> <br />E. Cabatu announced that half of the commission members will be cycling out <br />and new members will be cycling in. She has signed up for a second term. <br /> <br />2. Legislative Update <br />E. Cabatu circulated a final report on the Hawaii Women’s Coalition Bills. <br /> <br />D. Community Reports <br />None. <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Essay Contest – C. Kitaoka <br />No report. <br /> <br />B. Hawaii County Women’s Hall of Fame – Committee <br />No report. <br /> <br />C. Teen Dating Violence Prevention (DVD) – N. Kelly/C. Kitaoka <br />N. Kelly reported that Terri Lum from the family violence interagency committee <br />asked if CSW is willing to work with them for domestic violence awareness month <br />(October) to promote teen dating violence prevention/awareness. T. Lum wanted <br />CSW to sponsor the ads and N. Kelly explained that CSW had extra money, but the <br />committee will not have money to do radio spots again. Therefore, T. Lum <br />suggested whether CSW would be willing to share the script and they could maybe <br />produce a video clip and put it on public access television. E. Cabatu said they <br />could take the audio and voice it over images because it would be a lot easier. <br />K. Nova felt it was a great idea as long as the committee gets credit and T. Lum <br />does the production. E. Cabatu offered to check with the HSCSW to see if it would <br />be funded by the commission and if they want to re-air the ads. <br /> <br />D. Mentoring – K. Peters <br />K. Nova reported that the events board will be roughed up pretty quickly unless there <br />is a protective cover. E. Cabatu mentioned she may have some covering for it. <br /> <br />K.
