""• � � ��11I�f�f�r <br />VALERIE POINDEXTER <br />JEFFREY MELROSE <br />JOHN "MIKE" MIDDLESWORTH <br />PATRICK KAHAWAIOLA`A <br />LINDA UGALDE <br />CRAIG "BO" KAHUI <br />JOSEPH CARVALHO <br />2011 <br />HAWAII COUNTY <br />REDISTRICTING COMMISSION <br />DATE: July 18, 2011 <br />TO: Members of the 2011 Hawaii County Redistricting Commission <br />FROM: Rene Siracusa, Chairperson =J .. <br />RE: SETTING DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF ALTERNATE PLAN AND <br />COMMISSION DEADLINES <br />Pursuant to Ordinance 11 -29, Article 5 (b), Alternate Plan, we are required to set a deadline date <br />for the submission of Alternate Plans to the 2011 Hawaii County Redistricting Commission by <br />the 4th meeting of the Commission. <br />Ordinance 11 -29, Article 5 (c), Alternate Plan, also requires that any Alternate Plan be submitted <br />to the Commission at least 8 weeks prior to the deadline for completion of the Draft Plan. <br />Prior to the completion of the Draft Plan, this Commission is required, pursuant to the Hawaii <br />County Charter, Section 3 -17 (e) to hold at least one public hearing in each of the nine Council <br />Districts. <br />This being the 4th meeting of the Commission, and because these dates are mutually dependent <br />on one another, I suggest we set these dates in tandem. For discussion purposes, please refer to <br />"Draft 1 Timeline for 2011 Redistricting Plan," attached as Exhibit "A" that was previously <br />presented to the Commission. <br />This Communication will allow Commissioners to converse on this item and publicly announce <br />the dates. <br />COMM. 27 <br />Serving the Interests of the People of Our Island <br />
