Household Characteristics and Trends <br />In 2007, there were 439,085 households in Hawaii, UPI, om 386,824 households in <br />2000. The average household size decreased from 3.04 people in 2000 to 2.84 people in <br />2007:1 S The number of households (and average household size) in each county in 2007 <br />were as follows; Honolulu, 305,000 (2.9 people); Maui, 51,000 (2.8 people); Hawai 'i, <br />63,000 (2.75 people); and Kauai, 22,000 (2.8 people)." <br />Kauai <br />R Maui <br />to Hawaii <br />ilanoiulu <br />As shown in Table V -1, families make up approximately 73 percent of households in the <br />State ofHawai'i, while nearly 23 percent of households are comprised ofsingle <br />members.
