Comprehensive Strategy Sub-Committees <br /> • Data Collection and Analysis Workgroup <br /> The primary tasks of the Data Collection and Analysis Workgroup are: (1) <br /> developing a statistical and demographic data profile of the community, (2) <br /> conducting an analysis of data sources and accessibility, and (3) analyzing <br /> the data to identify priorities and key issues to be addressed by other work <br /> groups. <br /> • Resource Assessment Workgroup <br /> The resource assessment workgroup is responsible for collecting <br /> information about existing prevention and graduated sanction programs. <br /> The workgroup will identify key issues and gaps related to the programs <br /> and make recommendations for addressing the gaps and issues. <br /> • Objective Decisionmaking Workgroup <br /> The role of the objective decisionmaking workgroup is to map the current <br /> juvenile justice system to identify the critical decision points and document <br /> the current decisionmaking processes (objective, multidisciplinary teams, <br /> subjective recommendations, staff expertise, etc.) used at each decision <br /> point. The workgroup should identify who makes the <br /> decision/recommendations and what data are collected and used at each <br /> decision point, with particular attention to duplication in data collection, <br /> variations in definitions of terms, and time required to complete each <br /> process. This is not an inventory of the programs or options, but of the <br /> processes by which youth are placed or moved through the system. <br /> • Legislative/Policy/Systems Issues Workgroup <br /> The legislative/policy/systems issues workgroup is responsible for (a) <br /> reviewing and recommending changes to State and local laws and policies <br /> related to all stages along the CS continuum, (b) assessing and making <br /> recommendations related to information sharing and management <br /> information systems among relevant agencies and organizations, and (c) <br /> reviewing and making recommendations regarding case management <br /> functions currently in place. <br /> • Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Workgroup <br /> The planning, monitoring, and evaluation workgroup is responsible for <br /> integrating all the issues and recommendations provided by the data <br /> collection and analysis, resource assessment, objective decisionmaking, <br />
