COMMITMENTS AND CONTINGENCIES <br /> Contractual commitments— Contractual commitments for capital projects,expenses,and <br /> supplies at June 30,2006,except in the enterprise funds,are reflected in the balance sheets as <br /> fund balance reserved for encumbrances. Contractual commitments for the enterprise funds <br /> were immaterial. <br /> Intergovernmental revenues— The County has received federal.and state grants for specific <br /> purposes that are subject to review and audit by grantor agencies. Such audits could lead to <br /> requests for reimbursement to the grantor agency for expenditures disallowed under terms of <br /> the grant. In the opinion of management of the County,disallowed costs,if any,would not be <br /> material. <br /> Claims— Numerous claims and lawsuits have been filed against the County in the normal <br /> course of its operations. A liability for probable losses is included on the government wide <br /> statement of net assets(see Note 12). Although the outcome of the various claims and <br /> lawsuits is not presently determinable,in the opinion of the County's Corporation Counsel, <br /> the resolution of such matters will not have a material adverse affect on the financial <br /> condition of the County. <br /> ADA compliance—The County has entered into two stipulated agreements approved by the <br /> federal court to implement provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act(ADA). With <br /> respect to the first stipulated agreement relating to curb cuts,the County,with the help of a <br /> -72- <br />
