COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />BILL NO. 23 <br />ORDINANCE NO. ( Draft 3 ) <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 17, HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 <br />EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO PLUMBING. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br />SECTION 1. Chapter 17, Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), is <br />repealed in its entirety. <br />SECTION 2. Chapter 17, Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), is <br />amended to read as follows: <br />"Chapter 17 <br />Plumbing <br />Article 1. General Provisions. <br />Section 17 -1. Title and purpose. <br />(a) This chapter shall be known as the "plumbing code," may be cited as such, and will be <br />referred to herein as "this code." <br />(b) The purpose of this code is to provide for the protection of the public health and safety by <br />establishing minimum regulations for the installation, alteration, or repair of plumbing and <br />drainage systems and the inspection thereof. <br />Section 17 -2. Scope. <br />The provisions of this code shall apply to all new construction, relocated buildings, and to <br />any alterations, repairs, or reconstruction within the property lines of the premises, except as <br />provided for otherwise in this code. <br />Section 17 -3. Definitions. <br />As used in this code, unless otherwise specified: <br />"Administrative authority" means the director of the department of public works, or the <br />director's authorized representative(s). <br />"Assistant" means the authorized representative(s) of the administrative authority. <br />
