NEW BUSINESS 10:00 a.m. <br />4. <br />APPLICANT: HOLUALOA LIKANA, LLC (AMEND SMA-06-000015) <br />Request for an amendment to allow for a 5-year time extension to Condition No. 3 (complete <br />construction) of Special Management Area Use Permit No. 06-000015, which allowed the <br />development of a commercial parking lot with 128 stalls and landscaping improvements on <br />approximately 1.23 acres situated within the Countys Special Management Area (SMA). <br />The property is located on the makai side of Kuakini Highway at the junction of Kuakini <br />Highway and Henry Street, Kailua-Kona, North Kona, Hawaii, TMK: 7-5-006: 001. <br />5. <br />INITIATOR - COUNTY COUNCIL <br />County Council Bill No. 90, proposing the amendment of Chapter 25, Article 1 and Article 5 <br />of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as Amended), relating to zoning district <br />regulations for crematoriums, funeral homes, funeral services, and mortuaries. <br />6. <br />INITIATOR - PLANNING DIRECTOR <br />Amendments to Planning Commission Rule No. 9 regarding the Special Management Area <br />(SMA) to conform with Act 153, which amended Chapter 205A, Hawaii Revised Statutes <br />regarding Special Management Area. The proposed amendments to Rule No. 9 seek to <br />exempt the State Division of Boating and Ocean from any SMA permit, amend the definition <br />of single family dwelling as an exempt class of action, and increase the valuation of <br />improvements that could be considered exempt from the SMA requirements. <br />MINUTES <br />Minutes of the September 15, 2011 meeting <br />ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS <br />Leeward Planning Commission schedule for remainder of the year and next years proposed <br />schedule <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />The purpose of the public hearing is to afford all interested persons a reasonable <br />opportunity to be heard on the above matter. <br />Submitting Testimony: According to Rule 1 (General Rules) of the Planning <br />Commission, a person desiring to submit oral or written testimony shall indicate her/his name; <br />address; and whether the testimony is on her/his behalf or as a representative of an organization <br />or individual. If testimony is being submitted on behalf of an organization, documentation <br />showing membership ratification should accompany the testimony. Written testimony shall be <br />submitted with an original and fifteen copies prior to testifying. The Commission would <br />appreciate timely submittal to the Planning Department at least one week prior to the hearing <br />date to allow for mailing and thorough Commission review. Testimony that is irrelevant or <br />unduly repetitious may be limited by the Chairperson pursuant to Rule 1. <br />2 <br /> <br />
