RESOLUTION NO. 83 -1 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HAWAII REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br />ADOPTING THE DOWNTOWN HILO REDEVELOPMENT PLAN <br />WHEREAS, the Resolution No. 563 the Council of the County of Hawaii requested <br />the Hawaii Redevelopment Agency to develop a program for the redevelopment and revital- <br />ization of the downtown Hilo urban area; and <br />WHEREAS, after due diligence and extensive study and review, and with the <br />assistance of the Belt, Collins and Associates, Ltd., the Hawaii Redevelopment Agency <br />has prepared and developed a Downtown Hilo Redevelopment Plan in accordance with the <br />criteria set forth in Chapter 53, Hawaii Revised Statutes; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii Redevelopment Agency believes that the redevelopment plan <br />provides the necessary guidelines for the redevelopment of the downtown urban area, and <br />will play a major role in the redevelopment and revitalization of the downtown Hilo area; <br />WHEREAS, after a review period following distribution of the Downtown Hilo Re- <br />development Plan and discussions by the Hawaii Redevelopment Agency based on comments and <br />concerns received, forty -six (46) articles of revision were approved as part of the Down- <br />town Hilo Redevelopment Plan; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HAWAII REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY, that the <br />Downtown Hilo Redevelopment Plan, as amended and prepared by the Belt, Collins and Asso- <br />ciates, Ltd., and contained in their transmittal to the Agency dated April 18, 1983, is <br />hereby adopted as the Hawaii Redevelopment Agency's redevelopment plan for the blighted <br />areas described therein; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of the redevelopment plan, as amended by <br />the Hawaii Redevelopment Agency, be transmitted to the Hawaii County Planning Cormission <br />for its study and approval in accordance with Chapter 53, Hawaii Revised Statutes; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this Resolution be transmitted to the <br />Mayor, and the Hawaii County Planning Commission. <br />ATTEST <br />,V, �� e�c� <br />Attesting Offi$er <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br />!��� r 9 <br />n$y_.y Corporati n GounsL61 <br />County of Hawaii <br />Date �.tcL� 2 o <br />HAWAII REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br />By <br />Its Chairman <br />
