Federal: <br />Fish and Wildlife Service <br />Private: <br />Puueo Community Association Hilo Downtown Improvement Association <br />Koehnen's Interiors Day -Lum Properties <br />Hilo Outdoor Circle <br />Several meetings with community and business organizations were held, including: <br />10 April 1988: Meeting with Hilo Downtown Improvement Association <br />Board of Directors <br />21 April 1998: Field Visit with Gerdine Markus, Hilo Outdoor Circle; <br />30 April 1998: Meeting with Carl Rohner /Day -Lum tenants, Day -Lum <br />conference room; <br />6 May 1998: Meeting with Puueo Community Association Board of Directors. <br />Copies of communications received during preconsultation are contained in Appendix <br />1a. _. <br />Notice of the availability of the Draft EA was published by the Hawaii State Office of <br />Environmental Quality Control (OEQC) in the Environmental Notice of 8 October <br />1998. This initiated a 30 -day comment period during which the public was invited to <br />respond to the Draft EA with comments or questions. Five (5) comment letters were <br />received. These letters and the responses to them are included as Appendix 1b. The <br />Final EA was revised in portions to incorporate corrections or clarifications supplied by <br />these comment letters. <br />3 <br />
