Aloha,
My name is Brad Bordessa and I'm 19 years old. I've lived in Hawai'i for 7 years, and in
Hamakua for 2. Two years isn't much time to "learn" a place, but I am of the opinion that
I have put just about every day to use becoming ingrained into the Hamakua community.
I've worked lo'i patches and in a poi shop, taught 'ukulele at the youth center, sailed an
outrigger canoe in Waipi'o valley, played 'ukulele in the peace day parade. Never before
have I seen more beautiful places, people, and intentions. Those things have a name, and
it's not "Council District 9". It's "Hamakua" thank you very much. We'll keep our name,
council members (even if they aren't perfect), and whatever else comes with it. We like it
that way.
So please, vote "NO" on Plan A so we can keep Hamakua - Hamakua.
Thank you. Sincerely,
Brad Bordessa
COMM. 48.34
