MR. KANUHA: It made more of a connection to the mauka and makai. CHR. SIRACUSA: It made it more compact also. MR. MELROSE: Exactly, that too. MR. KANUHA: That is a big census block. Try and put this one into District 6. The only thing about this is that that whole area is known as Keauhou Resort. So the land owner considers that one big community, one big Keauhou Resort. MR. MIDDLESWORTH: How many people are there makai of Ali`i Drive? MR. KANUHA: Let's zoom out again, because it just looks weird. If we do this, I think we are going to have to grab that whole of Keauhou back into- -not all of Keauhou, but the southern shore of Keauhou in Keauhou Bay needs to go into District 7. All that underneath Ali`i Drive, where Ali`i Drive ends, needs to go into Distsrict 7 because of connectivity. Because the guys at the end of Keauhou Bay - - -Is there a connectivity issue? MR. MELROSE: That is an interesting question, there is a road that goes into the resort off of the bypass, off of Ali`i Drive, it goes down to a bay. You can drive down that road on the edge to get to the south side of Keauhou Bay. MR. MIDDLESWORTH: Take those three census blocks into District 7. It puts all of the golf course in. MR. KANUHA: It just looks really weird. MR. MIDDLESWORTH: The numbers look good. MR. KANUHA: Yes, the numbers look really good. I just want to make sure that they all have connectivity. These are all houses all spread out over a big area. This whole upper side of the hill is all like that. I don't see too big of an issue. MR. MELROSE: Pull back a little and get a broader view to look at. MR. KANUHA: The boundary comes down all major roadways. MR. MELROSE: It ends on the mauka side up by Palani Ranch. MR. KANUHA: It looks like a squid. MR. MELROSE: Or a kid with a hoodie. MR. KANUHA: For right now, I think that would be okay, I think there would definitely be more work to do.
