COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />SALARY COMMISSION <br />February 17, 2010 <br />MINUTES <br />Chair Perkins called the meeting to order at 10:03 a.m. in the <br />Conference Room of the Department of Liquor Control, 101 Aupuni Street, <br />Suite 230, Hilo, Hawaii. <br />Present: <br />Mr. Gerald Perkins, Chair <br />Ms. Patricia Provalenko, Vice Chair <br />Ms. Margaret Tokunaga, Secretary <br />Mr. Searle Grace, Member <br />Mr. Newton Inouye, Member <br />Ms. Karolyn P. Takahashi, Director of Human Resources <br />Ms. Joney Nitahara, Human Resources Manager <br />Ms. Velma Y. Menezes, Secretary- Reporter <br />MINUTES OF DECEMBER 10, 2009 <br />MOTION: Mr. Inouye moved that the minutes of December 10, 2009 <br />be approved as circulated. The motion was seconded by <br />Vice Chair Provalenko and unanimously carried. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />A) Freeze step movements provided for in the Salary Commission's <br />pay plan for Council chair and members <br />Mr. Takahashi explained that the step movements had gone into effect <br />in December 2004. Therefore, those who were elected in November 2004 <br />were placed on Step A in December.
