MR. KAHUI: Thank you, Madam Chairman. We have before you, Cheryl King. <br />CHERYL KING <br />(At this time Cheryl King came forward to address members of the Commission.) <br />MS. KING: Good morning, Commissioners. Thank you for being here and for all of your <br />efforts. I had one comment on Communication 55.1. I was sent a list of potential topics <br />for the final report, and I wondered if you might not want to include the possibility of <br />definite support set out for you ten years from now when the new Commission begins. It <br />seems like at first there was a lot of confusion regarding who you would go to for help and <br />for training, so I thought that might be in order. Last, I want to extend a special thank you <br />to Karen Eoff, the Commission Secretary. I feel like she has perhaps been the glue that <br />held this Commission together. She has helped make this whole process transparent by <br />her transcribing and posting the endless meeting minutes, and the endless hearing that <br />were held. Through her efforts, we were very much able to keep up on what was going on <br />if we wanted to. She was very timely in her responses, if we emailed and if we had a <br />question, and I appreciate her efforts very much as well as all the other support staff that I <br />know contributed to this effort. Thank you. <br />CHR. SIRACUSA: Thank you, Cheryl, and the Commission does agree with you on all <br />of those points by the way. We appreciate the staff, and especially Karen. Those points <br />that you referred to, by the way, that's just a starting point. But there will be <br />recommendations on all of those, so that would address your first item. Does anyone else <br />want to testify from anywhere? No? Then we will move on to approval of minutes. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />CHR. SIRACUSA: Approval of minutes of November 10, 2011. <br />Mr. Kahui moved to approve the minutes of the <br />November 10, 2011 Hawaii County Redistricting <br />Commission meeting. Seconded by Ms. Ugalde <br />CHR. SIRACUSA: Any discussion? <br />The motion to approve the minutes of the <br />November 10, 2011 Hawaii County Redistricting <br />Commission meeting was carried by the <br />following vote: <br />Ayes: Commissioners Carvalho, Kahawaiolaa, <br />Kahui, Kanuha, Melrose, Middlesworth, <br />Poindexter, Ugalde, and Chair Siracusa. <br />Noes: None. <br />Absent: None. <br />0 <br />
