4. SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS AND UPDATES (30 minutes) – SKCDP AC members will report on the recent activities of the following subcommittees. a) Puako – The Subcommittee will provide an update on the recent Puako Community Association meeting: plans for newsletter and annual meeting, and Makai Watch update. b) Kawaihae – The Subcommittee will report on the Kawaihae subcommittee meeting and the progress made in compiling proposed changes/amendments for the CDP; and report on South Kohala Conservation Action Plan workshop. c) Waikoloa – The Subcommittee will report on the Waikoloa town meeting from earlier this month and the discussion on bus service for Waikoloa; efforts to make the waikoloa public school cross walk safer; repairs to the Waikoloa emergency evacuation road; and the other topics covered at that meeting. The Subcommittee will also report on the Waikoloa leadership council meeting from October where they discussed similar topics as above and the need for an emergency center in Waikoloa and the extension of Paniolo Avenue. d) Waimea – The Subcommittee will provide an update from the South Kohala Traffic Safety Meeting and provide information on the oncrosswalks and flashing lights in front of new Longs Drugs. e) District-Wide Matters – The Subcommittee will provide an updated on water, short term and long term plan; Kawaihae by-pass archaeological preservation plan; and an update on the South Kohala High School. f) Pu’u Protection – No report. g) Trails and Greenways – No report. NEW BUSINESS 5. REVIEW WORK PLAN TEMPLATES FOR SUBCOMMITTEES (20 minutes) – The SKCDP AC will review the work plan templates, goals and objectives for the subcommittees 2011/2012. 6. DISCUSSION OF A LETTER REGARDING THE PANIOLO EXTENSION (10 minutes) – The SCKDP AC will discuss a letter regarding the Paniolo Extension. 7. REVIEW SECTION 9.2 OF THE SKCDP REGARDING THE WAIMEA TOWN PLAN (20 minutes) – The SKCDP AC members will review Section 9.2 of the SKCDP, the Waimea Town Plan Monitoring Program, in order to provide updates on the policies and programs.
