4. SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS AND UPDATES (30 minutes) <br /> – SKCDP AC members will <br />report on the recent activities of the following subcommittees. <br />a) Puako – The Subcommittee will provide an update on the recent Puako Community <br />Association meeting: plans for newsletter and annual meeting, and Makai Watch <br />update. <br />b) <br />Kawaihae – The Subcommittee will report on the Kawaihae subcommittee meeting <br />and the progress made in compiling proposed changes/amendments for the CDP; and <br /> <br />report on South Kohala Conservation Action Plan workshop. <br />c) Waikoloa – The Subcommittee will report on the Waikoloa town meeting from earlier <br />this month and the discussion on bus service for Waikoloa; efforts to make the <br />waikoloa public school cross walk safer; repairs to the Waikoloa emergency <br />evacuation road; and the other topics covered at that meeting. The Subcommittee will <br />also report on the Waikoloa leadership council meeting from October where they <br />discussed similar topics as above and the need for an emergency center in Waikoloa <br />and the extension of Paniolo Avenue. <br />d) Waimea – The Subcommittee will provide an update from the South Kohala Traffic <br />Safety Meeting and provide information on the oncrosswalks and flashing lights in <br /> <br />front of new Longs Drugs. <br />e) <br />District-Wide Matters – The Subcommittee will provide an updated on water, short <br />term and long term plan; Kawaihae by-pass archaeological preservation plan; and an <br /> <br />update on the South Kohala High School. <br />f) Pu’u Protection – No report. <br />g) <br />Trails and Greenways – No report. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />5. REVIEW WORK PLAN TEMPLATES FOR SUBCOMMITTEES (20 minutes) – <br />The <br />SKCDP AC will review the work plan templates, goals and objectives for the <br />subcommittees 2011/2012. <br />6. DISCUSSION OF A LETTER REGARDING THE PANIOLO EXTENSION (10 minutes) <br /> – <br /> <br />The SCKDP AC will discuss a letter regarding the Paniolo Extension. <br />7.
