Elderly Recreational Services <br /> <br />ELDERLY RECREATION SERVICES <br />As we welcome in 2009, we reflect on another successful year. 2008 was busy and productive <br />with more than 2,000 students attending over 100 classes, 2,800 seniors enrolled in a senior club, <br />30 district events and ERS volunteers doing more than 4,300 hours. <br />We bid a fond “Aloha” to ERS Program Director II Dennis Onishi. He is the new County Council <br />Member for District 4. Best Wishes to him as he embarks on a new endeavor and ask that he <br />continue to support our EAD Senior Programs. <br />ERS Is The BEST!!! <br />Contact ERS at 961-8710 for more information about our programs or visit us online at www.co.hawaii.hi.us <br /> <br />RECYCLE, REBAG, REUSE!!! Waiakea High Senior <br />Francis Sakai-Kawada pictured with Seniors at <br />his Service Project held at Kamana Senior Center. <br /> <br />Nancy Okimura from the <br />Kamana Karaoke Club <br />gave a stellar performance at the Recital on <br />November 20, 2008. <br /> <br />Monster Mash Casino Day at Keaau….. <br />Pictured at right High Chip Winners: Rose Vivian Chai, <br />Cary Dizon, Akira Yamamoto and Mike Lampron. <br /> <br />Young at Heart Line Dance Group led by Arlene <br />Yonamine and Happy Tapper Tap Dance led by Marcia Day showed the crowd at the Primetime Wellness <br />Fair in November that the Seniors still have what it takes to get their “grove” on! <br /> <br />Students from Kamana Rhythm and Life Class <br />perform in Hamamatsu Japan in October at the <br />3rd International Festival for Rhythm and Life. <br /> <br />Kupuna News 5 January - March 2009
