Nutrition Program Highlights <br /> <br />Wise Dining Partners, from left: Lito Asuncion, <br />Joan Kawakone, Kami Nishimura, Pauline <br />Fukunaga, Adel Velasco, Angela Miyamoto, <br />Nancy Moser and Elvira Lee. <br /> <br />Good Grinding <br />For <br />Wise Dining <br /> <br />Starting this Spring, the Nutrition Program staff <br />will be bringing you tips on how to have "Good <br />Grinds" and how to "Dine Wisely ". <br /> <br />This special program is funded by the State <br />Executive Office on Aging, and was developed <br />especially for seniors by the University of <br />Hawai`i's College of Tropical Agriculture and <br />Human Resources staff. <br /> <br />Everyone is invited to attend these sessions when <br />they are held at island wide nutrition sites. <br />Seniors will be receiving fun information on <br />topics such as "no cook cooking" (simple <br />recipes), "no need, no buy" (look out Costco!), <br />and "when in doubt, throw it out ". <br /> <br />To find the nutrition site closest to you, call the <br />Nutrition Office at 961-8726. <br /> <br />Ms. Kami Nishimura, of the University of Hawai`i's <br />CTAHR program, shows the Keaau seniors how to <br />make a simple, and healthy trail mix in 2 minutes! <br /> <br />Enjoying the day, clockwise from left: Ethel <br />Arakaki, Sachiyo Hirano, Catherine Mamhot, <br />Katherine Cain, Winona Watson, CSW Linnea <br />Reid, CSW Jeannine Mattos, Flo Laboy, Toshiko <br />"Spongie" Murakami. <br /> <br />Fun at Keokea Beach Park <br /> <br />How wonderful it is to live in beautiful Hawai`i <br />- where you can enjoy the beaches all year <br />long!
