4) <br />NKCDP AC SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS (30 minutes) – NKCDP AC members will report on <br />the recent activity of the subcommittees: <br />a. <br />Growth Management – The subcommittee will report on land use applications <br />submitted to the Planning Department. <br /> <br />b. <br />Public Access – The subcommittee will provide an update on the trail at Kohala Kai; <br />on the <br />update on activities at Hapu'u-Kapanai'a; update Kauhola Lighthouse; Upolu <br />Airport Area restoration; update on Upolu Airport – east end of the runway; update on <br />Coast Guard road; update on Kukuipahi; update on Kohala Kai; and grant of <br /> <br />easement documents. <br />c. Infrastructure A – The subcommittee will report on activities at the Mahukona Beach <br />Park and update on water lines. <br />d. Infrastructure B – The subcommittee will provide updates on electricity <br />reliability/redundancy and transmission of geothermal power to Oahu; rural <br />infrastructure and view plane protection - summary of June 3rd meeting of the <br />Kawaihae Local Resource Council on street lighting and intersection traffic lighting, <br />including effects on Mauna Kea observatories. <br /> <br />e. Affordable Housing – The subcommittee will provide updates on affordable housing <br />and land. <br />f. Agriculture – The subcommittee will provide an update on the merits of Important <br />Agricultural Lands registration and some of the programs that could be developed to <br />provide assistance to landowners. An update will be provided on the Kohala citrus <br />crops, strategic agricultural development plans for North Kohala and suggestion for <br />the formation of an Agricultural Producers Cooperative.
