STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />A. Kern introduced herself as a teacher at the University of Hawaii Center-West Hawaii. <br />She also works for the Kona Historical Society. She was on the County Commission on <br />the Status of Women many years ago when she lived in San Diego. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br />A. Thank you letter from Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel regarding the essay contest <br /> <br />REPORTS <br />A. Education <br />1. Urgent Services Directory <br />N. Kelly reported that the directory will go out to bid next week. The directory will be <br />paid by the Domestic Violence Strategic Plan Implementation Fund. In addition, the <br />intern who updated the directory also put together an Information and Services <br />Directory for the Hawaii County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney. The county <br />machine room printed the directory so the printing cost was nominal. They only had <br />to purchase the binding combs. <br /> <br />2. Equal Pay <br />K. Peters said that CSW can use the current radio spot if the committee wanted to <br />do a PSA. <br /> <br />B. Health <br />1. Women’s Health Month <br />No report. <br /> <br />C. Liaison <br />1. HSCSW <br />No report. <br /> <br />2. Legislative Update <br />No report. <br /> <br />D. Community Reports <br />None. <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Essay Contest – C. Kitaoka <br />C. Kitaoka reported that CSW spent $2,946.72 for the essay contest. <br /> <br />B. Hawaii County Women’s Hall of Fame – Committee <br />D. Downs reported that she selected Sunday, September 30, 2012 at the special <br />events hall in the Imiloa Astronomy Center for the Women’s Hall of Fame. She would <br />like to propose a continental breakfast from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. to 12 <br />noon. The cost of the room will be discounted from $400 to $320. The podium, mic, <br />sound system, projector, and clean up will be provided. The breakfast will cost <br />$1,465.20 for 120 people at $12.21 per person. <br /> 2 <br /> <br />
