OTRANSITIONS <br />I. The maximum angle between channel center- <br />line and transition walls should be 12.5'. <br />2. Sharp angles in alignment of transition struc- <br />tures should be avoided. <br />ODEBRIS BARRIERS <br />Debris barriers should be provided upstream of the <br />intake to prevent clogging. Where required, boulder <br />basins shall be provided upstream of the debris barrier. <br />OENERGY DISSIPATORS <br />Energy dissipators shall be used to dissipate energy <br />where necessary, and to transition the flow from a <br />lined channel to a normal flow in a unlined channel. <br />Z, <br />Energy dissipators may be any of the following types <br />such as the SAF basin, baffled chute, dentated sills, <br />buckets, impact, hydraulic jump, or other approved <br />designs. <br />j <br />SAF BASIN <br />A , - - ;.1'4111/.
