The Commission took up this item at 9:45 a.m. with approximately twelve people from the public in <br />attendance. <br /> <br />(SEE EXHIBIT A) <br /> <br />RECESSED The Chair called a recess at 10:36 a.m. <br /> <br />RECONVENED The meeting reconvened at 10:54 a.m. <br /> <br />INITIATOR: COUNTY COUNCIL <br /> <br />Bill No. 255 regarding an amendment to Ordinance No. 08-150 which amended Ordinance No. 465, <br />which reclassified lands from Agricultural-1 acre (A-1a) to Neighborhood Commercial-7,500 <br />square feet (CN-7.5). Amendment seeks to delete Condition E that currently restricts use of the <br />property to a visitor center and related uses due to flood hazards. The property is situated adjacent <br />to the southeast of the Amy B.H. Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden in Kealakekua, South Kona, <br />Hawai‘i, TMK: 8-2-013: Portion of 2. <br /> <br />The Commission took up this item at 10:54 a.m. with approximately 14 people from the public in <br />attendance. <br /> <br />(SEE EXHIBIT B) <br /> <br />MINUTES – The Commission took up approval of the following minutes at 11:58 a.m.: <br /> <br />March 15, 2012 <br />It was moved by Commissioner Iokepa and seconded by Commissioner Hickcox that the minutes be <br />approved as submitted. Motion was unanimously carried by a voice vote of all Commissioners in <br />attendance. <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS <br /> <br />1.Status of applications heard by Leeward Planning Commission that are pending before County <br />Council – Mr. Arai informed the Commission that both Bill 266 (amendment to the Zoning <br />Code, relating to agricultural tourism) and Bill 276 (amendment to the Zoning Code, relating to <br />bed and breakfast establishments) passed the Planning Committee and were forwarded to the <br />full Council, with minor changes to Bill 266. <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS – Mr. Arai said that the next meeting was scheduled for August 16, 2012. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT – There being no further business, the Vice Chair declared the meeting <br />adjourned at 12:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br />A T T E S T: Noriko Sauer, Secretary <br /> <br /> <br />Lani Bowman, Vice Chair <br />Leeward Planning Commission <br />2 <br /> <br />
