District Wide Subcommittee (5 Minutes) (1) The Puako Community Board of Directors met on October 3 and heard a report from Achahn Schulze regarding his position that the Hapuna Beach State Park should remain open for unrestricted access. The PCA Board has taken a position that the Park should be managed to protect the sense of place, the environment and the community. The Board has schedule future discussions with Park staff and is reviewing the Hapuna Recreational Area FEIS. (2) Update and report on traffic issues and projects in South Kohala. E. OLD BUSINESS (15 Minutes) (1) Report on County participation in advertising for positions on various boards, commissions and committees throughout the County of Hawaii F. NEW BUSINESS (1) Discussion by Bill Brilhante, Corporation Counsel, of letter sent to Corporation Counsel inquiring into the specific authority and jurisdiction of the SKCDP Action Committee. (2) Report by B.J. Leithead-Todd, Planning Director, concerning submissions to the AC, This was discussed at the September 25th meeting between the Planning Department for specific types of applications, to be reviewed for compliance with the CDP. and the SKCDP AC and NKCDP AC Chairs and Vice Chairs.
