Kenoi BJ Leithead Todd <br /> <br />Director <br />Mayor <br /> <br />Margaret Masunaga <br />Deputy Director <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />County of Hawai‘i <br /> <br />PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br />PUNA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN ACTION COMMITTEE <br /> <br />Aupuni Center 101 Pauahi Street, Suite 3 Hilo, Hawai‘i 96720 <br /> <br />Phone (808) 961-8288 Fax (808) 961-8742 <br /> <br />Tuesday, October 9, 2012 <br />Meeting Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Dan Taylor called the Puna Community Development Plan (PCDP) Action Committee <br />(AC) meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. in the Kea´au Community Center with the following persons <br />present: <br />Action Committee: Barbara Bell, Frank Commendador, Madie Greene, Farris Etterlee, Keikialoha <br /> <br />Kekipi, Patti Pinto, Oshi Simsarian, René Siracusa and Dan Taylor. <br /> <br />Staff: Larry Brown, PCDP Project Manager. <br />UU <br />Deputy Corporation Counsel: William Brilhante (Arrived at 3:04 p.m.) <br /> <br />U <br />Members of the public: 12 <br />UU <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />1.Dan called the meeting to order and announced that Madie would be chairing this meeting of <br />the PCDP AC. <br /> <br />2.Larry introduced Bill Brilhante, who is replacing Amy Self as Deputy Corporation Counsel <br />representing the Planning Department and the AC. <br />PUBLIC TESTIMONY <br /> <br />1.Luana Jones testified to the need for a swimming area at Pohoiki as an alternative to the boat <br />ramp, which is very hazardous and not an authorized swimming area. <br /> <br />2.Larry Brennan asked why the Action Priority List was being amended to remove the Railroad <br />Ave. pedestrian/bike trail from the list and asked that it be retained. <br />René moved to have agenda item #2 under Unfinished Business, Communication No. 2012-34: <br />Draft CIP Budget Request for a Swimming Area at Pohoiki Beach Park advanced to the next <br />agenda item.
