COUNTY OF HAWAII – 101 Pauahi Street, Suite 7 – Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br />Hilo Office (808) 961 -8331 e Fax (808) 961 -8410 Kona Office (808) 323 -4720 • Fax (808) 327 -3509 <br />TO: OWNER OR ENGINEER/ARCHITECT <br />FROM: BUILDING DIVISION <br />SUBJECT: HAWAII REVISED STATUTES § 6E -10 <br />BUILDING OWNER: <br />LOCATION: <br />TAX MAP KEY: <br />Per Hawaii Revised Statutes § 6E -10 relating to historic preservation, no construction, alteration, <br />disposition, or improvement that affects a historic property on the Hawaii register of historic <br />places shall occur until after the State of Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources <br />State Historic Preservation Division (DLNR -SHPD) has concurred with the proposed <br />construction, alteration, disposition, or improvement: <br />(a) Before any construction, alteration, disposition or improvement of any nature, <br />by, for, or permitted by a private landowner may be commenced which will <br />affect a property which is over 50 years old or an historic property on the <br />Hawaii register of historic places, the landowner shall notify the department <br />of the construction, alteration, disposition, or improvement of any nature and <br />allow the department opportunity for review of the effect of the proposed <br />construction, alteration, disposition, or improvement of any nature on the <br />historic property. The proposed construction, alteration, disposition, or <br />improvement of any nature shall not be commenced, or in the event that it has <br />already begun, continue, until the [DLNR -SHPD] has given its concurrence, <br />or ninety days have elapsed[.] <br />Before starting the building permit process, the owner or the engineer /architect must certify to the <br />above - mentioned section. <br />CERTIFICATION <br />I certify that the subject project conforms with the applicable Historic Property requirements: <br />Building is listed on the Hawaii or National Register of Historic Places with <br />approval letter from DLNR -SHPD attached. <br />F-1 DLNR-SHPD has reviewed and concurred with the proposed construction, <br />alteration, disposition, or improvement. <br />Owner or Engineer /Architect (print) Telephone Number <br />Signature <br />Date <br />County of Hawai'i is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer <br />
