C. Schoen, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br />Mary E. Fujio, Secretary <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mr. Balsis called the meeting to order at 10:03 a.m. <br />2. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS <br /> <br />Mr. Balsis reminded everyone that statements from the public are limited to three minutes <br />per agenda item. <br /> <br />Mr. Balsis called up Dan A. Cole, who had signed up to testify on several items. <br /> <br />MR. COLE: The first item Id like to bring up is the communications, a., memorandum <br />opinion dated 12/27/12 from the Office of Information Practices regarding Sunshine and <br />Uniform Information Practices Act, complaints from Dan Cole about agenda items. <br />Please note that you have received a request to forward this matter on to the County <br />Council. I will read the document I filed yesterday. Hawaii County Board Ethics, <br />January 9th, 211 [sic], received on January the 8th, 2013, at 9:55, re statements from the <br />public on agenda items, communications, a., formal request to refer actions to law <br />enforcement authorities, reference the United States Code, subsection 18, 4, misprision of <br />felony. The attached cover page of memorandum opinion dated 12127/12 from the Office <br />of Information Practices regarding Sunshine Law and Uniform Information Practices Act <br />complaints from Dan Cole, about agendas and meetings, states in the footnotes, one. <br />Quote, requestor also alleges violations of enforcement sections of the Sunshine Law, <br />claiming that the attorney general and Hawaii County prosecuting attorney were <br />extorting him and engaging in racketeering.
