2013 Kupuna Softball League <br />The 2013 Hawai‘i Kupuna Softball League season <br />started February 16, 2013 around the island at various <br />fields. This year the league consists of twenty-four <br />teams island-wide, made up of men and women ages <br />55 and older. The Hawai‘i Kupuna Softball League <br />has been in existence now for 39 years, it is the largest <br />league in the state of Hawai‘i. <br /> <br />The league is split between two divisions, East and <br />West for the first round of play. In the second round of <br />play, which will start on May 25th, teams will be <br />seeded into two divisions according to their win/loss <br />records and play games island-wide. <br /> <br />Following the two rounds of league games, teams will <br />be seeded for the 39th Annual Hawai‘i Kupuna Softball <br />Tournament which will be held July 17-18, 2013 at the <br />Walter Victor Stadium. The finale of the softball <br />season will be the Hawai‘i State Senior Citizens Softball <br />Tournament to be held on O’ahu, August 6-8, <br />2013. <br /> <br />Come out on Saturday’s from 9am to 12pm to the <br />various parks and show some support for our 2013 <br />Hawai‘i Kupuna Softball League as our men and <br />women compete for fun and fellowship. <br />For more information about the 55+ league, feel free to <br />call Elderly Recreation Services in Hilo at (808) 961-8710 or <br />Kona (808) 323-4340. <br /> <br />Photo of Puu‘wai Opio Jerry Pavao at the Hawai‘i Kupuna Softball Tournament in Hilo. <br /> <br />East Division <br />1. Join us <br />for a full day of events including: Pickleball, Ground Golf, <br />Bocce Ball, Swimming, Tennis, Basketball Throw, Softball <br />Throw, Run/Walk, Darts, Horseshoes, Frisbee Toss. The <br />event will start at 9am at the Old Airport Park in Kailua-Kona. <br />Pre-registration required. The <br />course consists of a 5K or 1-mile run or walk. <br />The event will begin at 8am and is open to <br />anyone 55 years and older. No pre-registration <br />required and the event is FREE.
