Edita Street, then onto Kaumana Drive. To increase the traffic to those proportions will result in <br />traffic being backed up probably to Hokulani Street, which is roughly a mile away from the <br />Kaumana Drive/Ainako intersection. There are other factors as well that will increase traffic on <br />Kaumana Drive in the future: <br /> <br />In the very back of Hokulani Street, they opened up several lots, not sure how many, but <br />somewhere in the area of 40. This subdivision is completed and they are selling the lots. <br /> <br />Kumulani Gardens, which is a new subdivision opening at the bottom of Alahelenui Street, and <br />also will have an entry/exit across from Iiwipolina Street, will have 88 lots, this is a 201H <br />Affordable Housing Project. These exits both enter Kaumana Drive. <br /> <br />I have been a resident of Pacific Plantation for 20 years, built my home in 1992. I have lived on <br />this island all my life, and in particular Kaumana area for 50 years. A great majority of those <br />living in this area are opposed to the charter school, I would estimate in the high 90 percent <br />range. I only know of one person in my subdivision that is for the charter school, that is one <br />home out of 70, I do respect their position. <br /> <br />There are other reasons why I do not wish to have the Connections Charter School move into our <br />subdivision, but these are my main concerns. <br /> <br />Also realize that I do not trust those in charge of this charter school. They clearly have been <br />deceptive to the outstanding members of my community, and they will also, and they have also <br />vilified my community in the newspaper, which is very sad. I have seen an email in which he <br />(The Charter School Principal) has referred to the Windward Planning Commission as the <br />Kaumana Planning Commission, clearly implying that Windward Planning Commission has <br />taken sides and is also against them. I oppose <br />this application for all the reasons I testified for about, ditto, ditto, everything everybody said. <br />They don’t have the water situation figured out, the traffic is going to be a nightmare. I don’t <br />want Kaumana Drive to change. I do not want it widened and straightened and all that. I love it <br />exactly like it is.
