This action is consistent with Policy LU-1.5 for Enhanced Shoreline Setback, Policy <br />41 LU-1.6 for a 17 mile Protected Coastline, Policy ENV-1.5 for Sensitive Resources, Policy ENV- <br />42 2.1 Open Space Network Program and Policy ENV-3.1 for Acquisition Priorities. This motion <br />43 does not reflect this group’s opinion regarding the mauka parcel. Motion was made by Janice <br />44 Palma-Glennie and seconded by Fritz Harris-Glade. The vote was 4 yes and 1 no, the motion is <br />45 approved to send a letter to the Planning Director. <br />46 <br />47 Discussion on the General Plan included: <br />48 Updates occur every 5 years <br />· <br />49 Reinforce concurrency issues <br />· <br />50 General Plan to follow the Official Transportation Network Plan adopted by the KCDP <br />· <br />51 Water protection (watershed) <br />· <br />52 Smart Growth <br />· <br />53 Island wide and not based on any one community. Since Matt is currently the vice chair, a <br />62 replacement on an interim basis is needed. A motion by Ken Melrose, seconded by Fritz Harris- <br />63 Glade to assign Keoki Schattauer as vice chair was made and unanimously approved. <br />64 Outreach Report <br />65 Open space network is lacking a plan. The question is what do we need to do to get it <br />66 done? Marnie recommends that we need to define open space <br />67 in order to keep the context.
