Bill 174; GMO Labeling was defeated in the Legislature on Thursday, March 21. <br />We discussed developing a “Kohala Brand” for non-GMO and Organic labeling of Kohala's Produce. <br />Update 04/30: Recommend we persue the development of a “Kohala Brand” Produce; <br />in support of Bill 79, being introduced by County Council Margaret Wille. <br />Strategy 1.7: <br />Sustainable AG-Water Development: Wells, Reservoirs. <br />Cipriani has compiled a list of major local Well Drilling Companies having a Drillers License <br />(C-57) and Pump License (C-57a). The list is available by request. Seeking guidance from the <br />County to initiate a development plan for sustainable Ag water at strategically identified IALs. <br />Update 04/30:Drilling Companies; Beylik Drilling & Pump Service-Kona; Derricks Well <br />Drilling & Pump Service-Hilo; Diamond Drilling & Pump-Hilo (C-57,C57a). No permit required <br />for test drilling. <br /> <br />Discussion & Conclusion: <br />Many of the goals of the NKCDP AG-Action Subcommittee co-inside with the objectives of <br />David Fuertes and Andrea Dean's Committees. We will combine our resources and energy <br />and work toward our common interests and goals to benefit our Community. Planning to <br />achieve this end is on-going. We look forward to taking together! <br />action <br />Regarding the Issue of non-attendance: For the past three months, of the current 46 e-mail <br />invitations sent out to my mailing list, just a couple people have shown up for the meetings. <br />Copies of each month's Minutes have been attached to Meeting notifications sent out, with a <br />request to be “Removed” if not interested in receiving notifications; “I have had one (1) <br />remove request.” I will continue to disseminate information to these contacts electronically. <br />The next AG-Action Subcommittee Meeting (should there be one), will be announced. <br />
