“Senior Companions Make Life <br />Beautiful” Recognition Luncheon <br /> <br />The island wide “Senior Companions Make <br />Life Beautiful” Recognition Luncheon took <br />place on April 17, 2013. The day’s event <br />began at the West Hawai‘i Civic Center in <br />Kona. Gifts, leis, and an in-service on <br />activities the Senior Companions could do with <br />Kupuna, was presented by Suzanne Hull, the <br />State Senior Companion Program Director. <br />Also present for the event were Coran <br />Kitaoka, EAD Operations Assistant Director <br />and Roann Okamura, Elderly Activities <br />Operations Director, who welcomed and <br />thanked all of the senior companions for their <br />contributions to the community. <br />After the program, the Senior Companions <br />were transported to Sam Choy’s Kai Lanai <br />Restaurant, where they enjoyed an onolicious <br />lunch! <br />Mahalo to all of the Senior Companions who <br />provide such excellent service to the Kupuna <br />of Hawai‘i; you truly make life beautiful for so <br />many Kupuna! <br />If you are interested in learning more about the <br />Senior Companion Program, you can call <br />961-8777 in East Hawai‘i or 323-4320 in West <br />Hawai‘i. <br /> <br />Photo of Suzanne Hull, Senior Companion Director, presentation on <br />creative activities that Senior Companions can do with <br />their clients. <br /> <br />Photo of Staff assist Senior Companions to fill out questionnaires. <br /> <br />Photo of Senior Companions enjoying their lunch at Sam Choy’s.
