2. Village Center Planning Materials and Supplies - $12,000 for meeting materials and supplies needed to facilitate community -based efforts to move forward implementation activities. 3. Mountain View Gym - $5,714 for a durable and portable volleyball system for indoor use. 4. PCDP AC Community Event - $5,000 to fund one or more community events hosted by the AC to further promote community awareness and participation in the PCDP process. Although none of the GO Budget requests from the AC were included, all of the CIP Budget items listed above were included in the Mayor's FY 2013-14 budget proposal which was approved by the County Council on May 30. 2. Guidance and Advocacy During the course of this reporting period the AC reviewed a variety of land use permit applications, environmental studies and agency project proposals within the PCDP planning area and provided comments to the Planning Director and /or appropriate agency on the consistency of the project being proposed with the goals and objectives of the PCDP. Written comments were submitted by the AC on the following: Environmental Studies Pre - Assessment Consultation comments for Pahoa Village Shopping Center & Related Roadway Improvements (Kuwahara project) Pre - Assessment Consultation and Draft EA comments for Pahoa Park Expansion Master Plan (Dept. of Parks &Recreation) • Pre - Assessment Consultation comments for a proposed electrolyzer -based hydrogen system at Puna Geothermal to support mass transit agency hydrogen fueled buses (Hawai'i Natural Energy Institute) Change of Zoning Applications • Aguinaldo 4, LLC, REZ 12 -159 • B.T. Kuwahara, LLC, REZ 12 -155 & State Land Use Amendment 12 -33 Sbecial Permit Applications • Rodney and Lorrie Diamond, SPP 13-150 The PCDP AC, State of Hawaii. County of Hawaii and other private or community groups have engaged in a variety of projects either consistent with the goals and objectives of the PCDP or specific Actions called for in the plan. The attached table is a listing of PCDP Action items with the identified activity during the past year and an update on their status or progress. 7
