VI.Reports/Special Committee/Presentation <br /> <br /> <br />1. Gorse Control - An Informational briefing presented by Mike Robinson of the DHHL <br />Land management division. Investigate partnership and take action. <br /> <br />2. Special committee update on Congressional Sportsmen Caucus/Foundation. <br /> <br />3. Report on legislative session update 2013 and district CIP. <br /> <br /> <br />VII.Old Business: <br /> <br /> <br />1.Update on Hawaii Administrative Rule Changes to Chapter 124. <br /> <br />In response to public inquire the GMAC would like to know if the Mayor would generate <br />a letter to the BLNR opposing the amendment changes to HAR-124. A determination <br />needs to be made to address what part or parts or in its entirety. We need discussion <br />and action. <br /> <br />2.Improve animal salvage with discussion and objectives to reduce waste. <br /> <br /> <br />3.Hawaii Island Game Management Plan - Prepare a formal letter to DLNR Chair William <br /> <br />Aila asking for his presence at our next GMAC meeting. The purpose, to give us the <br />status of the Hawaii Game Management Plan, the Puʻu Waʻawaʻa and Puʻu Anahulu <br />Habitat Conservation Plans, the percentage of monies DLNR receives from USF&W and <br />Explain priority 1 &2 of the Watershed plan and its impact to sustainable hunting. <br />Discussion followed by immediate action. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />VIII.New Business: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1. Form a permitted working group pursuant to HRS Section 92-2.5, the GMAC <br />proposes to form a permitted working group whose members shall investigate and <br />initiate discussions with DOFAW personnel for the purpose of gathering information <br />and assisting the Access and Acquisitions Coordinator to improve hunting <br />opportunities by increasing access to public lands. <br /> <br />2. Formation of permitted interaction group. Pursuant to HRS Section 92-2.5, the <br />Game Management Advisory Commission proposes to form a permitted interaction <br />group whose members shall investigate and initiate discussions with Kamehameha <br />Schools for the purpose of gathering information on the process and procedure of a <br />hui/group to perform mammal management, and to discuss possible short- and <br />long-term leases. <br /> <br />3. A request by the people was made to obtain the 1998 stipulation pertaining to the <br />Federal mandate to remove ungulates from Mauna Kea, specifically were it states <br />the public is to be included in the logistic planning of the semi-annual aerial <br />missions and thus request us to investigate and recommend action. <br /> <br /> <br /> VII.
