<br />MOBI MATS RETURN TO RICHARDSON’S! <br /> <br />BEACH WHEELCHAIR ACCESS EVERY WEDNESDAY <br />Richardson Ocean Park, 2349 Kalanianaole Ave, Hilo <br />Every Wednesday July 24, 2013 through September 25, 2013 10 am to 3:00 pm <br />Parks and Recreation Mobi Mats are back to providewheelchair access along the <br />sandy shoreline near the lifeguard station. A beach wheelchair, flotation equipment, <br />and an outdoor handheld shower hose are also available during this time. <br />Mobi Mats are heavy duty woven polyester mats that benefit a wide range of beach <br />goers with and without disabilities. People that use wheelchairs, those with mobility or <br />balance issues, vision impairments, seniors, families with strollers and wagons enjoy <br />easier access on hot sand via Mobi Mats. Please come with support needed to traverse <br />rugged paths as Mobi Mats provide shoreline access only along sand. Scout the route <br />that works for you. <br />Lifeguards can assist in emergencies only. <br />People with disabilities, friends and families, caregivers, agencies, lifeguards, and <br />watermen and women have participated inimproving beach access for people of all <br />abilities.
