AGUINALDO HISTORY <br />Gilbert Aguinaldo's father, Alberto G. Aguinaldo, came over to Hawaii (via boat) from <br />the Philippines in approximately 1930 at the age of 21. He was born in 1908. <br />He arrived on Oahu and staged there for a few months, then moved to Keaau (behind <br />the Keaau Police Station) for a while, and eventually moved. to Pahoa Town (in approx. <br />1932). He was employed at Puna Sugar as a crane operator to load the cane hauling <br />trucks. <br />He married Gloria Juan in 1971 and moved here to Pahoa from the Philippines. Gilbert, <br />their only child, was born in 1972. They lured in Pahoa Town in a building next to <br />Kaleo's, which still exists. Shortly after Gilbert 7s birth Alberto retired. <br />Gloria Aguinaldo was a farmer and grew papayas on leased land in Kapoho and still <br />does today. <br />They purchased the subj <br />
