Fitzgerald <br />Deputy Director <br /> <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION <br /> <br />101 Pauahi Street, Suite 6 Hilo, Hawai‘i 96720 <br /> <br />(808) 961-8311 Fax (808) 961-8411 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />PRESS RELEASE <br />September 6, 2013 <br />FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br /> <br /> <br />nd <br />2 Annual Hawai‘i County Keiki Triathlon set for October 19 <br /> <br /> <br />Hawai‘i County’s Department of Parks and Recreation and the Hawai‘i Isle <br />nd <br />Police Activities League (HI-PAL) will hold the 2 Annual Keiki Triathlon on <br />Saturday, October 19, at the Kona Community Aquatic Center and Maka‘eo <br />Park, also known as Old Kona Airport Park, in Kailua-Kona. <br /> <br />Children ages 7 to 14 years old are invited to swim, bike and run in a <br />miniature version of the IRONMAN World Championship that will be held one <br />week earlier. <br /> <br />The entrance fee is $5 per child. Registration will end on Friday, October 4. <br />Registration forms are available online at the Department’s website: <br />www.hawaiicounty.gov/parks-and-recreation/. They also can be obtained from <br />noon to 3 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays at the following locations: <br /> <br /> <br /> Yano Hall in Captain Cook <br /> <br /> Kekuaokalani Gymnasium in Kailua-Kona <br /> <br /> Pu‘u Nui Park in Waikoloa <br /> <br /> Waimea Community Center <br /> <br /> Kamehameha Park in Kapaau <br /> <br /> Hilo Recreation office within Aunty Sally Kale‘ohano’s Lū‘au Hale <br /> <br />To ensure the athletes’ safety, enrollment will be limited to the first 30 <br />children who sign up in each of the four age-group categories or a <br />County of Hawai‘i is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
