Petition No. 2013-04: Initial review of petition alleging a County officer is in violation of Section 2-84 (conflicts of interest) of the Code of Ethics because of the officer’s participation in Bills 109 and 113, “both impacting and putting papaya growers out of business as conventional farmers while claiming to grow non-GMO papaya on 1/4 acre at her farm.” <br /> <br />b. Petition No. 2013-08: Petitioner is seeking an opinion from the Board regarding his involvement with the Big Island Amateur Radio Club and his employment as an administrative officer with the Hawai‘i County Civil Defense Agency. <br /> <br /> <br />5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br /> <br />6. EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> <br />With reference to the agenda item listed below, one or more executive meetings are anticipated. In particular, the Board of Ethics anticipates it may consider the evaluation, dismissal, or disciplining of an officer or employee of the County of Hawai‘i, where considerations of matters affecting privacy will be involved. The Board may also consult with the Board’s attorney on questions and issues pertaining to the Board’s powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities.
