There was no one from the public wishing to testify on the application. <br /> <br />It was moved by Commissioner Moses, and seconded by Commissioner Gonzales, that the <br />application be approved as recommended by the Planning Director with conditions. A roll call <br />vote was taken and motion carried with seven ayes (Moses, Gonzales, Heaukulani, Henkel, <br />Miyasato, Ono and Ishibashi). <br /> <br />APPLICANT: SANDRA KANESHIRO (formerly DR. CURTIS LEE) (REZ 981) <br /> <br />Request for a 5-year extension of time to comply with Condition B (secure Final Plan Approval) <br />of Change of Zone Ordinance No. 02-49 that changed the district classification from a Single <br />Family Residential (RS-10) to General-Commercial (CG-20) zoning district for approximately <br />20,640 square feet of land. The property is located on the northwest side of Kamana Street, <br />between Kino‘ole Street and Kīlauea Street, approximately 340 feet northeast from the Kamana <br />nd <br />Street-Kino‘ole Street intersection, Waiākea House Lots 2 Series, South Hilo, Hawai‘i, TMK: <br />2-2-022:005. <br /> <br />The Commission took this item up at 9:15 a.m. with 34 people from the public in attendance. <br /> <br />Mr. Darrow stated that the hearing has been rescheduled as the applicant failed to properly notify <br />surrounding property owners of the hearing. <br /> <br />There was no one from the public wishing to testify on the application. <br /> <br />It was moved by Commissioner Gonzales and seconded by Commissioner Moses that the matter <br />be placed on the Windward Planning Commission’s December 5, 2013 meeting. Motion was <br />unanimously carried by a voice vote of all Commissioners in attendance. <br /> <br />APPLICANT: AGUINALDO 4, LLC (USE 13-043) <br /> <br />Application for a Use Permit to allow the construction of a 13,520 square-foot medical facility <br />and related improvements on approximately 1.545 acres of land situated within the County’s <br />Single-Family Residential (RS-10) zoning district. The subject property is located on the <br />southeast corner of the intersection of Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Highway 130) and Pāhoa-Kapoho <br />Road (Highway 132), across from Pāhoa High School at Kaniahiku Homesteads, Puna, Hawai‘i, <br />TMK: 1-5-003:037. <br /> <br />The Commission took this item up at 9:17 a.m. with 39 people from the public in attendance. <br /> <br />Mr. Darrow oriented the Commission and public of the subject and surrounding properties on the <br />location map and site plan, summarized the request, and noted the Planning Director <br />recommended approval of the application with conditions. <br /> <br />The applicant, Gilbert Aguinaldo, on behalf of his mom, wife, and himself, gave some <br />background information and said the proposal was to address the needs and concerns he had for <br />the area being born and raised in Pahoa. He said a lot of the people have to travel out of the <br />district to get medical attention, noting the congestion onto Highway 130. He said he realized <br />the need when his dad needed medical attention and it was a burden for his mom to drive from <br /> 2 <br /> <br />
